All
timber frame walls are damp proofed with polymer damp proofing
courses. Preservative treated soleplates fit under the ground
floor panels to act as a secondary barrier against the damp.
Galvanised kit straps fix the external soleplates to the external
cladding and prevent lateral movement. Galvanised vertical
restraint straps provide stability where our engineer requires
it.
Specification
is mainly determined by budget and most people want to get
the best value for money. However, it must be realised that
some items, which initially appear cheap, may well cost more
in the long run.
For
instance, are the windows and doors supplied with their glass?

Our
erection team will be on site to receive and off load
lorries etc. on delivery. The provision of secure covered
storage is the responsibility of the client. Our team
will also check levels and foundation dimensions before
work commences. It is the customer's responsibility
to ensure that the foundations are prepared in accordance
with dimensioned plans provided as part of the package

Additional or remedial works necessary where the foundations

These
details are intended only as a guide and we strongly advise
you prepare a detailed budget before you commit yourself to
using any timber frame supplier, builder or architect. The
prices given by any company in introductory literature can
be at best only an estimate.
For
this reason we will always advise you on the extras over and
above the cost of a HERITAGE DESIGNS timber frame which you
will need to finish your build. The cost of our package is
simply due to its being so complete. When comparing our prices
with others, ensure that you are allowing for items, which
we include but others do not. We will be pleased to provide
you with an itemised quotation from detailed plans to enable
you to make a realistic comparison. Not forgetting our pledge
that we will beat any realistic quotation by
5%
